A Trick AND a Treat Box!

I showed this tricky treat box yesterday on my weekly Facebook live and wanted to give you all the measurements and a step by step tutorial today! I used the stamp set from the September 2019 Paper Pumpkin kit called "Bone Appetit".

Tricky Treat Box

This tutorial will give you at least 2 boxes per sheet of cardstock.

Cardstock Prep

1. Start by cutting a Basic Black sheet of cardstock in half at 4 1/4".
2. Trim one side to 3" x 11".
3. From the leftover strip, use your Timeless Label Punch to punch two tombstone pull-tabs.
4. Trim the 3"x11" piece to 3"x5" (cut 2).
5. Trim the other half of the cardstock to 2 3/4" x 4 1/4" (cut 2, you will have enough to cut 4).

Score

3x5 pieces: 1/2", 2", 2 3/4", 4 1/4"

2 3/4" x 4 1/4" pieces: on each side at 5/8" (in between 1/2" and 3/4"). CUT on the score line at each corner on the long side in a small v just to the opposite score line to make tabs for your box.

Decorate & Assemble
1. Stamp the skeleton image in Versamark on the 3x5 piece in between 1/2" & 2" score lines.
2. Stamp the "eat if you dare" image in Versamark on one end of the Timeless Label Punch.
3. Cover the clear stamped image with white Stampin' Emboss Powder and use your heat tool to emboss.
4. Fold all the scorelines in and adhere to create a box and cover.
5. Use a hot glue gun to glue the pen spring right next to the short edge inside the box.
6. Add the die-cut hand to the top of the spring so it's reaching out of the box.
7. Adhere the "tombstone" Timeless Label punched piece to the bottom of the box (on the side underneath the spring).
8. Add candy!
9. Slide the cover onto the box and tuck the hand inside as you do.
