One Sheet Wonder Part 2

Changing up the Designer Series Paper from yesterday's Facebook Live Tutorial, you get a completely different look! I used the beautiful Toile Tidings Designer Series Paper with the Wildly Happy Stamp Set as well as the Christmas Countdown Stamp Set, and here are the fun fold cards I came up with using 2 full sheets of DSP and 8 sheets of coordinating cardstock!

Here is a quick YouTube video tutorial showing you again how to make these beautiful cards!

I still have the leftover strips of paper to use to create a few more cards! So much paper, so little time! But seriously, a girl can NEVER have enough Designer Series Paper! So go ahead and order this beautiful Toile Tidings DSP! You won't regret it! You'll use it up with this One Sheet Wonder!

Product List
Have you tried it out yet? We would LOVE to see your versions of this OSW shared over in our Facebook Group! Tomorrow I'll show you one more version (which was briefly shown in the Facebook Live). It's fun to see how the change of paper or stamps really change up the design!

Cardmaking Tip

In case you haven't noticed, the product of the week was the fun Dinoroar Suite!
So here is one last card for you with a quick and easy tip!

When I was creating this card, I was focused on the focal point. The dinosaurs were die cut from the DSP (scrapbook paper) for a quick and easy main feature. The sentiment and accents were an afterthought.

My first card looked like this:

It's still a fun card that will brighten somebody's mailbox (and day), but by adding an extra layer in Pineapple Punch, and layering up that sentiment with the Starburst Punch and a Circle Punch, it...
packs more of a punch. (LOL I had to!)

Tip of the day: When your card still looks like it's missing something, add a layer!

Sale-a-bration & Occasions Catalog Bundles - How to shop like a pro!

I am a total bargain shopper. SO much so, that it's hard for me to pay full price for anything! And if there's free shipping? I buy more.

In other words, I'm a self-proclaimed bargain shopper, AND I'm going to share my tips with you!

I'll be hosting a live event on my Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/RedHotStampers/) TOMORROW (Tuesday March 7th) at 7PM Central Time.

Come join us if you:
1- Love Stampin' Up! products but don't know where to start.
2- WANT IT ALL but want to make sure you actually use what you buy.
3- Love the Sale-a-Bration products but aren't sure what goes with them.
4- Basically, if you're here at my blog, you'll definitely benefit from what I'll show you!

Hope to see you there!

Also, if you're in the North Houston area, I'm hosting the first ever Red Hot Retreat this Saturday from 2-5PM. Bring your own cardstock, embellishments, DSP, adhesive etc. (or buy from my stash!) and I'll provide the stamps, ink, dies and tools! Contact me for more details!

FYI, the above photo of me was after a baby shower 5 years ago. Yes, I was 7 months pregnant in that photo! And no, I did NOT buy all that, although I've always dreamed of shopping sprees. My husband REALLY loves this about me... ;) I'm just kidding, he doesn't. But when it comes to FREE stuff, it's just like a shopping spree. Gotta love Sale-a-Bration time!

Just a Note to Lift Me Up!

If you received my newsletter over the weekend, you KNOW which Occasions Bundle is my clear favorite! If you didn't receive the newsletter, it was by far my best one yet! Check your spam box or sign up here! You don't want to miss out! (And I don't want you missing out!)

Here is another card using the Lift Me Up bundle. This one might be my favorite. Classic black and white (actually vanilla), hot air balloons, french script, simple yet stunning! This is my style FOR SURE!

You're probably wondering where I got that beautiful page of French writing from. It looks like an old French novel. Well, maybe not old. It may or may not be from an actual "Histoire de France" book from college that I may or may not have actually read back in the day. (I really don't remember if I read it or not, but from the looks of it, probably not. But it does make for great cards! Am I right? Don't tell my Professor.)

A couple tricks with this card. It's surprisingly well thought out for such a simple looking card.
(Would you like a video? Comment below if that would help. I will gladly make one.)

In design, odd numbers are more pleasing to the eye than even ones. So when stamping the hot air balloon, 3 is a great number. It also fills up the card front without being overwhelming. (Although in this month's class to go I have an overwhelming amount of balloons on one of the cards...and it's amazing.)

You are going to work backwards on this card. First, figure out how much room you need for that cut out cloud. I set the larger balloon stamp on the paper and then decided where I wanted the smaller ones. Then I just moved the large stamp off the page, stamped two small balloons, then finished with the large image. (You'll want to stamp the SMALLER balloons first so they don't end up overlapping the large balloon.) (Ask me how I know.) 😏

Adhere the well-loved book page to a basic black scrap. (Or if you have any remaining pieces of that gorgeous Typeset DSP left, use that! Stop hoarding it. It's time to let go.) The size here depends on your book page (or leftover DSP). I just trimmed off the margins and cut the basic black cardstock to just about 1/4 inch larger all the way around. My black scrap ended up being 5" by 3-3/4".

Cut the cloud out of both layers and save it for the inside of the card. Lay the book page/cardstock layer (DON'T adhere it yet!) on your Very Vanilla card base and stamp "Just a note" through the cloud. I used a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to color just part of my sentiment stamp. I do that a lot. Love those markers.

THEN adhere the stamped and layered cardstock onto your card base using dimensionals, making sure the stamped sentiment shows through the cloud. The dimensionals give that reverse die-cut cloud more depth and shadow to draw your attention down to the sentiment.

Use your adhesive of choice to stick that pretty little cloud onto the inside of the card, and offset the inside sentiment just a touch to the left. Et voilà! I hope you like it!
