Well, Christmas is over and if you haven't already cleaned up for New Year's Eve, you will soon! It's always sad to put away Christmas, and one thing I especially hate throwing out are Christmas cards! The fact that someone took the time to send me a card in the mail means a lot. Isn't there a way to reuse that beautiful card without tossing it? Pinterest to the rescue! I found this fun post with 9 ways to reuse those cards. It got me thinking about all those fun die cuts that would look phenomenal with Christmas cards!
Oh my goodness, #5- can you imagine that with the Home Sweet Home thinlits??? SO CUTE! To get a variety of sizes, you can also use the Baker's Box Thinlits!
Fill those cute tubes from September's Paper Pumpkin Kit with a few pinches of Fancy Frost Sequins! Just 1/3rd full is perfect for a midnight confetti toss! One of the benefits of being a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber is being able to order past kits!
The Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim is wrapped around the tube and secured with a glue dot.
Use the Star Framelits Dies and layer one inside the other to create this Blushing Bride Star outline. Layer the silver 17 with Multipurpose Adhesive OR glue dots if you don't have time to wait for it to dry! Wrap some silver metallic thread around the tube and tie the star to the tube.
Wait you didn't get a gift for Aunt Melba?!? Hurry! Send your husband or teenage daughter to the grocery store to grab a gift card (or two or three! You never know who else might show up!) and turn ANY card you have on hand into a gift card holder! You could also make a quick and simple card like this while they're gone! Don't have a card on hand? Grab a piece of 12x12 paper and make 3 gift card holders as shown in this video. Phew! Crisis averted!

Anyone headed to an Ugly Christmas Sweater party this year? There are some CRAZY ugly sweaters out there, and wouldn't they make some FUN Christmas cards? Or Thank You cards for anyone attending that party??? The Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder by Stampin' Up! can make those sweater cards almost too good to be true!
This Christmas, I am blessed to be able to spend some time in Europe with my family, and there's nothing more inspiring than Christmastime in Europe! Thinking of all the Christmas markets, the stained glass windows, the amazing architecture all decked out in greenery and red ribbons. Christmas is such a magical time! No matter WHERE you spend Christmas, I'm sure you'll be able to be inspired by the gold glow of white lights at night or the happy pop of colored lights cheering up a cold, bare canvas of snow!
Although this card doesn't have an image of lights, the "glow" sentiment was absolutely inspired by Christmas lights!
I started off by stamping the "glow" sentiment in Versamark on a Whisper White base. (This stamp is from a set called "Love Sparkles" in the new Occasions catalog!) I sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and used the heat embossing tool to set it. Then I used the Watercolor Wash background stamp with Blushing Bride ink. After I rubbed off the ink on the "glow" images, I softened it by using an Aqua Painter and more Blushing Bride ink.
I cut out two star images from the Star Framelits and stamped "glow" in Blushing Bride. I added a little silver doily and then used Dimensionals to pop up the stars AND secure the Blushing Bride sequin trim.
The finishing touch was the self-adhesive Metallic Enamel shapes, and then securing the white cardstock onto a Blushing Bride card base.
You could make this card in any color, and if there isn't coordinating sequin trim, just use silver or gold!
My family has a tradition of hosting a white elephant gift exchange that is the HIT of the year! There are always some FAVORITE items that get stolen the maximum number of times. It's usually a bottle of soda or a box of candy or snacks. Then there are always the items that evoke the ??? face. They add just as much to the party! Either way, what MAKES a present is the wrapping and the TAG! Order this Tin of Tags Kit and add that finishing touch to those beautiful presents under the tree!

Black Friday. I think it started out just as a phrase to indicate the day when retail stores were indeed in the black - making money. It has turned into utter chaos! The fact that my sister can't even attend Thanksgiving dinner because she has to set up for shoppers to come in at 6:00 ON THANKSGIVING is RIDICULOUS. Yes, I admit to having been part of the madness at one point. I was pregnant with my firstborn and he revolted from the start. I believe it was the first time I actually had morning SICKNESS while pregnant. That was the last time I ever got up at zero dark thirty to get a good deal. That is why the internet was invented people! That and so you can stay home in your jammies and make fun things instead! Grab your stash of paper and enjoy this fun, quick & easy tutorial! 4 gifts out of ONE piece of 12x12 paper! You're welcome.
FYI, I really did TRY to make a printable template, but it was much easier to make a video. The measurements for cutting are: 3 1" strips from the bottom (cut 3" off each), then 4" for each gift card (there will be 3).
Scoring measurements: bottom of gift card holder 4 1/2", 3 1/4". 2" then flip it around and score at 1 3/4"
Let me know if you have any questions! Things always make sense in my head...not so much when I say them out loud. haha!
