May 2020 Paper Pumpkin: A Kit In Color

Happy Friday!
We made it through another week! What was the highlight of the week for you? It's hard for me to pick just one, but I have to say getting this month's Paper Pumpkin kit was in the top 5 for sure!
(Our spontaneous backyard water fight was a hard one to beat!)

I absolutely LOVE the beautiful bright colors and the happy rainbow images!
Here is what was included in this month's kit:

A Kit In Color | Red Hot Stampers

And here is an image of the completed cards from the kit! They're so happy and bright!
Don't you love the NEW In Colors that will be making a debut on June 3rd? I DO!

A Kit In Color | Red Hot Stampers

I quickly put together one of each card but I didn't stop there! I wanted to use that adorable rainbow stamp set, so I pulled out some notecards and DSP and went to work!
(Although, work doesn't sound very fun... went to play? OK!)
Stampin' Up! Red Hot Stampers
They were so quick and easy that I even had time to do a Facebook Live! (I know...it's been awhile!) You can watch the replay here or a slightly cleaned up version on YouTube (posted below).
(HINT: there's an amazing GIVEAWAY!)

Speaking of giveaways, here's a little something for everyone! This month's printable case insert!

Paper Pumpkin August 2019 - The Gift of Fall

In today's Facebook Live video tutorial, I show you the stunning "The Gift of Fall" Paper Pumpkin kit for August 2019. It is so gorgeous!!! I've always loved the vibrant colors of Fall! We won't get those Fall colors (or drop in temperatures!) in Houston for a while, but there has been a small shift that gives us hope!

These alternate projects were made using ONLY the supplies included in the Paper Pumpkin kit as well as the Gift of Fall add-on card pack. Well, I did add some cardstock and new DSP to that middle card. ;) The refill is now available for purchase to current subscribers for only $10! The refill does NOT include the stamp set or the ink spot, so I highly recommend purchasing the Country Home stamp set that coordinates BEAUTIFULLY!

Spring has Sprung! Third Thursday Blog Hop

Welcome to another fabulous Third Thursdays Blog Hop! Once again, I'm following my dear friend Anne Marie Hile
Our theme this month is Spring has Sprung!
Spring has sprung for us here in Spring, Texas!  Yes, I literally live in Spring, which is ironic because we go from about a month of Winter, to a month of Spring, to 10 months of summer! There are flowers blooming all year long though, hence the name...I guess?

Are the flowers blooming where you are? or are they buried in snow? Either way, it won't be long before you'll start to see some color popping up! Speaking of popping up...

I've been obsessed with interactive and pop-up cards lately. I seriously CANNOT get enough! I have some fun projects planned that I will be presenting at an event in San Antonio next month and I'm DYING to share them, but you'll have to wait until April! Also, I just received my Paper Pumpkin in the mail yesterday, and it's a pop-up card kit! *squealing with delight!*

So without further ado, here is the fun pop-up card I made for you today!

Here is the front "closed" view, step 1...

Step 2 as you start to pull the sides out away from each other...

...and here it is all the way extended!

But wait! No room to write? Don't worry!

I've got your back! (Get it? The back of the card...is where you write...ok enough with the puns.)

I made a quick video tutorial for the base of today's "wiper card". You can alter the sizes to come up with different sized cards, but I wanted mine to fit in one of our regular envelopes.

Here are all the products I used:

*Just a quick note about the stamp set I'm using today. This is a FREE set that can only be added once your order hits $150...which believe me, is VERY easy to do! Contact me if you have questions!

CUT & SCORE

Night of Navy
Card base: Cut cardstock so you will have 2 pieces measuring 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" Score each piece at 1 1/2" and 3"
"Popper": 1 1/2" x 3" mark along the 3" side at 1 1/2" and then score from one corner to the mark. (See the video tutorial above if you get confused!)
Die-cut from Stitched Labels (see table above to purchase)

Whisper White
Back layer: 4" x 5 1/4"
Front layer: 3 3/4" x 5"
Die-cut from Stitched Shapes (see above to purchase)
Scraps to embellish

Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala DSP (see above to purchase)
Front layer: 4" x 5 1/4"
Scraps to embellish

STAMP using the Very Vintage Host Set

Night of Navy & Daffodil Delight ink
On the 3 3/4" x 5" Whisper White piece, stamp the flower image in Night of Navy slightly to the left of center, and then above and below on each side. Think of how 5 dots look on dice and you'll get it!

On the 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White, use the faded doily stamp in Night of Navy ink to embellish the corners. I stamped the bottom right corner and then without cleaning my stamp, stamped again right next to it. (This is called "stamping off" and gives more depth to your card rather than stamping it all in the same shade.)

On the Stitched Shape OVAL, stamp off TWICE in Night of Navy before stamping the faded doily image on the left side. You don't want too much of this image on the label, just enough to add a little color to the label before you use the Happy Birthday stamp. Notice mine is slightly to the right of the center just because of where my doily image was stamped. If you want in centered, just stamp less of the doily image. To finish the label, stamp that cute little bee image in Daffodil Delight.

Stamp the decorative "square" image in Night of Navy on a scrap of Daffodil Delight Gingham Gala paper, and then bee image inside that. Then just "fussy cut" (use scissors to cut) the image and adhere it to the non-scored side of the 1 1/2" x 3" piece of cardstock.

On another scrap of the Gingham Gala DSP, stamp the long floral vine in Night of Navy and layer it over a Whisper White scrap that is approximately 1/4" bigger than the DSP.

Stamp 3 bees in Night of Navy on a Whisper White scrap (about 1" x 3 3/4") and layer over a Gingham Gala scrap (appx. 1 1/4" x 4")

You can use the snail adhesive to adhere all your layers, but to make that pretty label pop on the front of your card, be sure to use the dimensionals!

Another note, I used Night of Navy for the card base, and Daffodil Delight gingham paper, but feel free to play around with other fun Spring colors! I'd love to see what you come up with!

Thanks again for "hopping" by, and now we're on to the blog of another sweet friend of mine, Sarah Fleming!

I hope you've enjoyed all the fun Spring inspiration and you are inspired to create your own cards!
