Hello Cupcake!

Welcome to another Third Thursdays Blog Hop! You may have joined me from the amazing Anne Marie Hile's blog if not, don't forget to "hop" back and see what she created!

This month we are focusing on all the fun FREE Sale-a-Bration goodies that are being offered with EVERY $50 purchase! I decided to showcase the Hello Cupcake! stamp set that has coordinating products coming out in March (because who loves fussy cutting? Not me!) I am an avid birthday card maker, so when I saw the Hello Cupcake set in this year's Sale-a-bration offerings, it was first on my list!

The cupcake image(s) are quick and easy to stamp as is, but I played with a watercoloring technique using my aqua painter, ink pads and coordinating Stampin' Write Markers. Ironically, I ended up using the SAME colors that are in our How Sweet It Is Suite! They scream Happy Birthday...in a fun way! They also happen to be my youngest sister's favorite colors, and her birthday is coming up! I think it was meant to be.

I actually created the inside of the card first. Knowing it was going to jump out at her (almost literally) I wanted the front of the card to be simple and showcase the cupcake in the fun colors.

This card proves that it's what's INSIDE that counts! (And no, it's not money... sorry Quinette!)

open it slowly!

(insert party blower sound effects here!)

I added a second watercolored cupcake image popped up with dimensionals on one side, and the classic Happy Birthday die cut on the other. To even it out, I punched out the Duet Banners (one in shimmery white, that I scored to make it pop up, and the other in Coastal Cabana with my sister's name written with our versatile Stampin' Write Markers!)

I finished the card off with the "Celebrate Your Day" sentiment from the Hello Cupcake stamp set embossed in white, leaving just enough room for all of us to sign our names wishing her a Happy Birthday!
(I can't wait to see what fancy signatures my kids come up with!)

Don't wait any longer to add this FREE stamp set to your order! SAB items are selling out FAST! The rest of these products used on today's card will be around for at least a little while longer:
Head on over and say hi to Sarah as you oooh and aaah over her creations! (Always stunning!)

In case you missed anyone, here is the list of everyone participating this month - you won't want to miss ANY of the inspiration!

Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love the Hello Cupcake set but I wasn't fond of all the "lines" in the stamped images. I like the fact that when you watercolor the images those squiggly lines go away! Great card!! I am sure your sister loved/will love it! Thanks for sharing with us.
